A comprehensive restructuring of a compact apartment to create an open, flexible living space better suited to contemporary lifestyles. The intervention removes internal partitions and, given the limited floor area, retains only one bedroom.

The focal point of the project is a central timber cube, conceived as an organising element. This volume conceals the bathroom, integrates all storage and articulates the spaces without the need for partition walls, visually and functionally connecting the living and sleeping areas. Complementing this is a versatile multipurpose room, separated by sliding doors, which brings light to the circulation area and can adapt to different uses — remote working, reading or receiving guests — adding considerable flexibility to the home.

Natural materials are used throughout in a complementary palette: okumé plywood, polished microcement flooring, natural granite and stainless steel. These materials are carried consistently across all rooms, creating a visual thread that unifies the entire project. The refurbishment also includes a full thermal upgrade of the apartment through the insulation of all exterior façades, significantly improving comfort and energy efficiency.
