Refurbishment of a centrally located apartment for a couple entering a new chapter in life, with their children now independent.
The scheme reorganises the home into three distinct zones: a daytime living area arranged along an east–west axis on either side of the entrance — comprising the open-plan living/dining room and kitchen, designed for entertaining family and friends; a master suite with dressing room and en-suite bathroom; and a more private zone set further from the entrance, with two bedrooms and their own bathroom, reserved for children and grandchildren on their visits.
The intervention removes one bedroom to create a direct connection between the living room and the main terrace, while also freeing up space for the master dressing room. The new layout optimises circulation and maximises storage without creating unnecessary corridors. The aesthetic is understated and contemporary, designed to complement the couple’s existing furniture and the sense of home they have built over the years.
